We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator

 for Sowing Sneinton 

Post duration:  November 2026 - May 2027 

Deadline for application: 5pm 1st October 2026 

Freelance position: £140 for 9 hours pw for 26 weeks

(to be done on Wednesdays preferably) 

 

We are looking for someone with experience ofs etting up volunteer recruitment and support processes; a proven track record of successfully managing, looking after and recruiting volunteers. The position would also include managing corporate volunteering days.

 

We would like to significantly increase our number of regular volunteers who: set up/pack down for groups, garden, support cooking, serving, washing up, support early years activities. This may involve:

visiting other local groups and inviting them to try out volunteering, liaising with local colleges, work clubs

and schools to offer work experience, liaising with NCVS and learning from other community gardens. 

 

We are looking for someone self-lead, to think creatively about how to involve people in volunteering that will create the maximum benefit for the community garden, the volunteers and the local community.

WEDNESDAYS


10am to 11.30 am 

Gentle movement and mindfulness for adults - of all abilities - with Eleen Angus - experienced yoga, Buddhist meditation & Xi Gong practitioner


every weds from 23rd sept to 3rd feb 2027 (2 weeks off at Xmas - last one for 2026 would be 16 dec and first one back 6th Jan 2027) 

at Lindum Grove Community Garden, Sneinton

£1 suggested donation if you can afford it 


You can park on Lindum Grove's road (that's called Lindum Grove) or there is some parking on Meadow Lane.

Please bring a yoga mat (if you have one), a blanket, extra clothes if you need, and dress for the weather. If you don't have a yoga mat, its okay as we have a few spares.
Please bring your own water as we have no water supply at the Grove.

There is a compost toilet - and a plumbed in toilet at the supermarket (Two'j) nearby.

Mini Growers - 0-5 year olds gardening group - for 0-5 year old and their adults

We sing, play, garden, tell seasonal stories 

10 - 11.30 am every Thursday in term time at Lindum Grove Community Garden 

No booking needed - free - £2 suggested donation (£2 per child for child minders)

Come and garden with us...

Sowing Sneinton in a 24 year old community gardening community group - founded and run by local people.

We run Mini Growers gardening play group on Thursdays, volunteer groups, arts and gardening workshops in schools and lots of other things.

We aim to look after neglected green spaces in Sneinton Nottingham, increase biodiversity and food security and reach out to isolated and disadvantged people in our community.
